Meditation for relaxation, Ch'i control for harmony
In modern life, most of us face many stresses, which can be distracting and make it hard to concentrate. To facilitate training, classes begin and end with short meditation periods, where students are taught to relax and meditate with correct breathing. Students are also encouraged to practice outside class, to help cope with the demands of every day life.
Ch'i - or breath, is your internal energy. Harnessing this is beneficial to your Martial Arts training as well as to all aspects of your life. Understanding and using your ch'i can help you attain wa, or harmony - the feeling that you are a balanced part of the whole.
